Overview
Whirlpool and associated brands focus on direct to consumer purchasing. One issue that data showed was that most people want to purchase high priced items with the best deals. Whirlpool’s website was hard to navigate to what promotions were available.
I was tasked with finding a solution for a all in one place for these to be found easily. After brainstorming and reasearch, designing a promotion drawer was the winner. I designed all of the UI and UX, using the brand guidelines with colors and typography to balance noit overtaking a screen but still being legible. I worked with a developer to follow best practices and to develop a new component to allow users the ease of finding all current promotions in one place.
Through our help, we were able to accomplish the following:*
- Customers that interacted with the drawer had a 3.5X higher average conversion rate across all brand
- Contributed 12% to total revenue the second half of the year, estimated as $29M annually (~$80k/day)
- Reduced the content authoring time by greater than 80% over previous component
Take a look at the drawer in both light and dark mode.
